We store the minimum needed to run the platform. No tracking pixels, no selling anything to anyone.

What we store

Your name, username, email, city, and your profile photo and Instagram handle if you give them. Your car's make, model, generation, year, color, photo and mods. Which runs you marked going, interested or saved. What you post on event walls and which comments you reacted to. The communities you start, with your name on them. If you use the app and allow notifications, the device token needed to send them. When a run's link is shared we record that it happened and where to — the run, the destination and the time, with nothing about who did it.

What is public

Your profile, your car and your comments are visible to anyone with the link — that is the point of the platform. Your email is never shown. Whether your upcoming runs appear on your profile is a toggle in your settings, and it defaults to on. If you change your username the old one stays pointed at you, so links already pasted into group chats keep working, and nobody else can take it.

Email

We email you about runs you marked going or interested: confirmations, updates, cancellations, meeting point changes, replies to your comments, somebody writing on a run you organize, and a reminder the day before. The app sends the same messages as notifications if you allow them. Every non-essential email has an unsubscribe link; cancellations reach you either way, because that one is safety information.

Deleting your account

Delete my account is at the bottom of your profile in the app, and it finishes there — nobody has to do anything by hand. Your profile, your car, your photos, your RSVPs, your saved runs and your device tokens go. What you wrote stays, marked as removed, because the replies underneath it are other people's and they still have to make sense. Runs you already held stay up with no name on them, and so do communities you started; runs you have coming up are cancelled, and everyone going is told. Write to hola@laruta787.com if you would rather we did it.

Who else handles it

The site runs on Vercel, the database and sign-in on Supabase, email goes out through Resend, and notifications through Expo. Signing in with Google or Apple tells us your name and email — and a photo from Google, nothing from Apple. None of them get your data for their own purposes, and nobody buys it from us.

Who can use LaRuta

You need to be old enough to hold a licence or a learner's permit in Puerto Rico. This is a platform about driving; it is not for children, and we do not knowingly keep accounts for anyone under 16.
